The Killarney National Park in County Kerry is just outside your door at the historic Lake Hotel. The family-owned resort sits on the shore of Killarney’s lower lake, the Lough Lein. There are majestic views of the mountains and marshes, where several swans call home. The surrounding woodlands are fertile ground for free roaming red deer. The centerpiece of the property is the 12th century ruins of the McCarthy Mór Castle. It’s a magnificent, peaceful location with easy access to Killarney National Park. If you’re lucky, you just might catch a rainbow. We did!
